Ecodraft started as a one-way keg company but noticed the 100% waste of these packagings. A reinvention took place which resulted in the ‘ecological keg of the future’.

Ecodraft implemented a new way of eco-thinking. “For generations, we have lived in a recycling bubble. But should we still emphasize recycling, or should we change our eco-thinking to the first three steps of the Waste Hierarchy?” Thereby meaning:

Step 1: Prevent

Ecodraft prevents the consumption of water and chemicals for rinsing kegs. Why spending time on cleaning kegs when you love to brew?

Step 2: Reduce

Ecodraft stopped the production of one-ways by which they reduced on waste disposal. Generally, the company benefits on the reduction of energy and CO₂ for recycling.

Step 3: Reuse

Ecodraft reuses 95% of their reusable kegs, by which 5% comes in the recycling cycle. Therefore, the double bag system is a well appreciated technology which helps the waste problematic worldwide.

Step 4: Recycling

Ecodraft believes that the better ecological thinking is reusing a product and postpone the recycle process till the end of its lifespan. This brings also more time efficiency forward between the global waste management process and the amount of waste that can be processed per month.
